Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Dootly is operated by Gaurav Chavhan, an individual based in Pune, Maharashtra, India (“Dootly”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect through https://dootly.co.in and the early-access waitlist, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written for India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
01What Dootly is today
Dootly is in early access. Right now this website only explains the product and runs a waitlist. Dootly does not yet make phone calls, take payments or act on your behalf. The demo conversations on the site are simulated.
Before the calling service launches we will update this policy to cover it, and tell people on the waitlist.
02What we collect
When you join the waitlist, you give us:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone or WhatsApp number
- Optionally, a description of a task you would send Dootly to do
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the site and filter spam.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive data. Please don’t include bank details, OTPs, passwords or health information in the task field.
03Why we use it
- To contact you by email or WhatsApp when your early-access spot opens
- To send occasional updates about Dootly’s launch (you can opt out at any time)
- To understand which tasks people want help with, so we build the right things first
- To keep the site secure and block spam sign-ups
We process this data based on the consent you give when you submit the form. We do not sell your data or share your number with businesses for marketing.
04Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, who process data only on our instructions:
- Netlify, Inc. — hosts the website and stores waitlist sign-ups (servers outside India)
- Hostinger — our email provider, used when you write to or hear from us
- Google Fonts — serves the site’s fonts, which means your browser connects to Google
- WhatsApp (Meta) — only if we contact you on WhatsApp about your invite
Because some of these providers store data outside India, your data may be transferred abroad. We only use providers that apply reasonable security safeguards.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a government authority.
05How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details until you ask us to delete them, withdraw consent, or 12 months after Dootly’s public launch, whichever comes first. After that we delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
06Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct, complete or update it
- Ask us to delete it
- Withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it)
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to
- Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied
To use any of these rights, email support@dootly.co.in from the address you signed up with. We will reply within 30 days.
07Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to sign-up data is limited to the people who need it to run the waitlist. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
08Children
The waitlist is for people aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete their details.
09Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, such as when the calling service launches, we will also email people on the waitlist.
